Earlier this week, I started toying with the idea of getting an actual URL and redesigning my blog to be less “I write about my feelings on the Internet like everybody else” and more “I write about my feelings on the Internet like people who are cool enough to have websites.” I saw a clear distinct there; I don’t think anybody else will.

I have minimal knowledge of starting my own webpage and, except for a brief stint of obsessing over Tibor Kalman and dreaming of being Helen Hunt in “What Women Want”, have no experience in creating quality graphic design, so I called my friend Jkrew and asked if he’d be so kind as to render me his design services. Not only did he agree to help, but within a few hours of my request, he’d gotten me my website, migrated my blog, and designed an absolutely perfect masthead. He rocks.

[If you’d like him to rock you, please visit his website: Jkrate Dot Com.]

So now, just in time for my first anniversary of starting this sucker, I’m officially available at http://www.thedirtfield.com. You can still reach me by going to the old address, but it makes me feel like more of a person to actually have a real address. So thank you, Jkrew, you are my hero.
